Motorola Razr i: Intel’s Brainchild with 2GHz Processor, ICS And 8MP Camera

Motorola Mobility and the chip maker Intel announced their partnership during the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 and recently they sent out invites for a press conference on September 18 in London, hinting at the unveil of a new smartphone.
In the past few weeks, several reports from numerous sources confirmed that Motorola’s new smartphone will have an edge-to-edge display and LTE network support.
Hence, following the Indian handset vendor, Lava, who unveiled the first Intel smartphone – Xolo 900 in April – Motorola the US based smartphone manufacturer in London today, unveiled its first handset of its multi-year, multi-device partnership with the chip maker. The new handset dubbed as Razr i is powered by the Intel Atom processor and it is a revamped version of Droid Razr M, which was unveiled at an event on September 5 alongside Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx.Though both the handsets look alike from on the exterior, however, the Intel Medfield processor in the Razr i is claimed to have a maximum clock speed of 2GHz.
Commenting at the launch event, Jim Wicks, senior vice president, Consumer Experience Design, Motorola Mobility was quoted saying “Together with Intel, we’re redefining what people can expect from a mobile device. A camera that launches in an instant, Web pages that load blazingly fast and a device that’s the perfect balance of screen size and fit in hand. RAZR i delivers just that when you put an Intel-fast processor in a beautifully designed phone and add in extra long battery life.”Boasting a dimension of 122.4 x 60.9 x 8.4 mm and weighing around 127 grams, the Razr i has a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution. While the display is protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass to avoid both scratches and scrapes, the back of the handset is made of DuPont KEVLAR splash-guard coating

Motorola ATRIX HD

Motorola ATRIX HD is a big-screen dual-core Android smartphone that ships with Android 4.0 ICS.The main features of the ATRIX HD are the 4.5" 720 x 1280 pixel display enhanced with Color Boost technology that Motorola says gives the handset more vibrant and sharper images. On the back is an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video capture capabilities, plus a 1.3 megapixel video calling camera on the front. Inside is a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU coupled with 1GB of RAM. The ATRIX HD has a micro SD slot, although it isn't clear how much flash memory it has internally. This is an Android 4.0 device (although remember that Android 4.1 is now available on some rival devices) and as such it has dispensed with the physical buttons on the front, reserving an area of the screen for them instead. All the usual Android features are here such as WiFi, 3.5G support, GPS, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. There's a media player but no FM radio, but there is an HDMI port and when combined with the 720p HD display this should be a very decent portable media player. The ATRIX HD has inherited the Kevlar back from the RAZR, although it's a little thicker than the RAZR at 8.4mm thick with a footprint of 134 x 70mm. The ATRIX HD weighs 140 grams and comes with a 1780 mAh battery.
