The latest incarnation of Microsoft’s mobile platform Windows Phone 8 is officially released, the smartphones that are based on the OS have still not made their way into the Indian market, except for HTC 8X, which is available for per-order at Rs 35,032. However, not all consumers can afford to buy the HTC offering in order to have their hands on the Windows Phone 8 user experience. For those who are craving to have their hands on WP8 OS and do not want to shed out lot of money on the same, there is an interesting listing on India times Shopping, an online retailer site. The website has listed a Lemon Mobile handset dubbed as Lemon T109 for Rs 2,999, which has an user interface that is quite similar to that of Windows Phone 8, however, the handset is a touchscreen feature phone and not a smartphone.According to the listing, T109 is based on Java and sports a 3.7 inch touchscreen display, which larger than the displays in other feature phones. Which Windows Phone 8 device is better? Nokia Lumia 920 or HTC 8X

Both phones also have built-in NFC chips. These allow near-field communications, which means "this phone can do things when you tap it against another gadget." The promise is that you'll be able to tap on a cash-register terminal to pay for something; tap against an NFC-enabled bus shelter ad to download promotional goodies; tap two phones together to transfer a photo or address; and tap against a Bluetooth speaker to "pair" it with the phone. In practice, there's more to it than that. Unfortunately, the tap only introduces the phones; Bluetooth or some other technology is needed to complete the connection. And Microsoft's coming tap-to-pay initiative is incompatible with the one Google has spent millions of dollars setting up at cash registers across the land. But we can always hope. The HTC Windows Phone 8X is the smaller of the two new phones, but even so, it dwarfs the iPhone - it's wider, taller, heavier and thicker. If you get the Verizon model, your Internet experience will be faster and better in more cities than on the Nokia phone, which is available only on AT&T.The 920 also wins as a GPS unit. The Maps app in all Windows phones comes from Nokia (which owns Navteq, one of the Big Two in map data). And it is really good. It shows traffic, aerial photography, public transportation, the works. And it has none of the problems that plague Apple's Maps app. It even lets you download map data to your phone, so you can search and navigate when you're offline or don't want to rack up astronomical roaming fees.so compare to both are nice but you should decide which one comfortale your pocket??

windows 8

Windows 8 is here. With upgrades, new Windows 8 PCs and Windows RT devices now released, this is our definitive verdict on the full, finished Windows 8 operating system. If you've been following Windows 8 through the development process, especially if you've tried the Release Preview, Windows 8 won't surprise you. The changes between the Release Preview and RTM aren't major, except possibly the removal of Aero Glass transparency from desktop windows and turning Do Not Track (DNT) on by default.First of all, it's worth noting that the Windows 8 RTM is still only for x86/64 PCs; there isn't a version of Windows RT for ARM devices that you can download and try out, since there aren't any ARM devices that will run it.That's because of the extremely custom way that ARM devices are built, where not even the way to control a physical button is standard. Microsoft isn't supporting tablets built to run Android or WebOS, either.Download Windows 8 Full Version Click here

New Features of WINDOWS 8

The much awaited windows 8 is out, and a number of new features have been introduced. First of all, the user interface has been extensively redesigned. A new lock screen has been introduced. The lock screen shows a number of widgets which inform the user about the number of emails and other notifications from various applications. Microsoft has also introduced two new login methods that have been designed for touch screens. These include a picture password. The user can perform certain gestures on a picture to unlock the screen. A new start screen has been added which incorporates live application tiles. Each tile will represent an active application. You can even create your own custom tiles. Windows phone user will find this new home screen to be very similar to the ones in their phones.

The traditional desktop is retained even in the new version. The start button is not present but a task bar has been added which only shows the applications that the user has attached to it. The system tray appears on the right side. The task manager has also been redesigned by Microsoft. The basic task manager is used for basic task killing but more advanced user can also look up detailed information regarding CPU and memory usage. Users can also remove applications that automatically launch at startup directly from the task manager.

Another useful feature incorporated in Windows 8 is the Refresh Your PC tool. This tool allows a simple cleaning of your computer. Just as before, users created restore points, in Windows 8 refresh points can be placed and with a single click your computer will be refreshed. Windows 8 also allows users to integrate their windows with their Microsoft account. This will allow users to store their settings and files and can use them either on their home computer or on their laptop at work. You can also sync up your data on cloud and can open it on any Windows 8 device. You can also sync your contacts with any social networking site.

Another great feature of windows 8 is the Window store. Its display is very similar to the home screen where tiles have been incorporated to respond to various categories and applications. The Windows Store offers applications for tablets as well as the traditional desktop. Currently, there is a huge variety of free applications on the Windows Store provided by Microsoft and its affiliates. After Windows 8 has been officially released, users will be able to browse through numerous free and paid applications.

New changes also include the Windows To Go feature. This feature allows the user to create a boot able USB flash drive. This flash drive is usually referred to as the Lives USB. This USB will carry the user’s settings, files and Windows 8. Another new characteristic that has been confirmed is that Windows 8 will incorporate OEM activation 3.0. This will make the Windows 8 less viable to piracy.  These are a few of the many new exciting features of Windows 8.

Windows Phone Gains Market Share, Enters Top 3 Mobile OS in 8 Markets

Windows Phone, the successor of Windows Mobile, is shaping up as a modern, highly competitive platform capable of becoming one of the three leading mobile OSes in the world in the coming years.
In fact, it appears that it has already managed to make the first steps in this direction, and that it is now the third most popular mobile platform in 8 key markets around the world.
Kantar WorldPanel, an internationally renowned company formerly known as TNSWorld panel, is reporting that Windows Phone has started to gain momentum and that it is leaving Research In Motion’s BlackBerry operating system behind.
At the moment, the platform is officially the third largest mobile OS in the United States in terms of sales, as well as in other leading markets, such as UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and Brazil.
The operating system has a 4.8 percent market share at the moment, compared to BlackBerry’s 3.8 percent or Symbian’s 3.2 percent. Last year, Windows Phone had a market share of 3.5 percent, the company states.
Of course, Google’s Android operating system is still the uncontested leader on the mobile OS market in these countries, and it appears set to remain that way for a long time. Apple’s iOS is currently the second most popular mobile platform.
Soon, Windows Phone might receive a boost in sales with the launch of Windows Phone 8, the most advanced flavor of the OS to date, finally capable of competing directly with Android.
Windows Phone 8 devices are expected to arrive on shelves from various handset vendors out there, including Nokia and Samsung, which have already unveiled their smartphones, as well as HTC, Acer, LG, ZTE and others.
