DSC-RX100 has a 1.0 type CMOS sensor with an effective resolution of
20MP. This sensor has an area which is four folds that of a 1/2.3 type
sensor, which is present in normal point and shoot models, thereby
helping the camera to capture more light as compared to the small sensor
cameras, resulting in more detailed images.
The other feature is the presence of a high speed autofocus, which locks the focus on the object in just 0.13 seconds and the speedy burst shooting option, which can capture 10 frames per second in full resolution.
