With the changing times the options of selecting phones and service providers has grown far beyond expectations. You can change phones and service providers as fast as you want to. Android phones certainly offer a new level of effectiveness and integration because of the two-way syncing of contacts in real-time from the computer to phone and vice–versa. This article tries to put in place a few important tips that we need to bear in mind while syncing contacts of Android phones.

Setting up a Google Account:

Users getting started with the Android phone users are prompted to set a Google account. Though many users, for lack of knowledge, take this to be an unnecessary exercise, but you must believe it this is the best option when compared to using the highly priced syncing software’s available in the market. Once you have created a Google account using the Android phone becomes much easier and the experience becomes more refreshing rather than frustrating.

Contact Synchronization:

Contacts can be exported and imported with the help of existing software in a Coma Separated values (CSV) file format.

To import the CSV file to your Android device perform the following steps:
  • Open the Gmail account on your computer and click the contacts tab
  • Now click the import button.
  • On being prompted select the CSV file which you intend to import.

For exporting the CSV file in Yahoo:

  • Click contacts
  • Select tools
  • Click the export button; and
  • Select the Yahoo CSV option.
Yes, it is as simple as this so why not have a Google account on your Android device because it enables you to sync everything you want to.

Syncing software’s:

There are several priced software’s available in the market, for the Android phone users,  which take care of not only syncing contacts but much more. Some of the import software’s available in the market include Double twist 2.6, Motorola Droid (version wireless),  Motorola CLIQ (T-Mobile) and many more. These are only a few and with some search on the internet you will certainly come across several software’s, having their own advantages and price tags. The thumb rule is to test the available free solutions offered by the trial versions before taxing the pocket.
Missing Sync for Android and Companion Link for Google are software’s worth mentioning. The Missing Sync for Android is the software which has gained popularity for it syncs the Android phone with a computer over a Wi-Fi network, via Bluetooth or with a USB cable.
